Fantastic Four to Join Marvel Rivals Roster, First Trailer on Monday

Marvel Rivals is the new hero shooter that launched in December and has been a big hit among gamers. As the game winds up for Marvel Rivals Season 1, in a few days, players will get their first look at Marvel’s most iconic superhero team, the Fantastic Four.
A trailer to show off the Fantastic Four will drop Monday, Feb. 6 at 11 a.m. ET/ 8 a.m. PT, according to a tweet from the official Marvel Rivals account on Thursday. Since all four members of the group — Mr. Fantastic, the Human Torch, Invisible Woman, and The Thing — are shown in the accompanying picture, it’s likely that all will make their debut at the same time, which is currently unknown.

Not much is known about the four heroes yet, including their specific abilities, but Marvel Rivals data miners who are combing through the game have already found a few details about the character. The Human Torch and Mr. Fantastic will be part of the Duelist class, which means the two of them will use their abilities to deal some heavy damage. The Thing will likely be a Vanguard, also known as a tank, that will take up all the damage. Not much is known about Invisible Woman, but it’s likely she’ll be a Strategist by making use of her powers to support teammates and get the jump on the other team.
The addition of the Fantastic Four will be the first new characters to the already stacked Marvel Rivals roster, which includes legendary characters like Spider-Man, Wolverine and Captain America along with lesser-known ones such as Luna Snow, Peni Parker and a new fan favorite, Jeff the Land Shark. This release will likely set up the standard procedure of releasing new characters from developer NetEase Games. There’s also a possibility that a new map could be added to the game with New York City referenced in the announcement tweet. It also wouldn’t be a surprise that as new characters drop, there could be changes to the rest of the roster to make sure the game stays balanced.
Marvel Rivals is free-to-play on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series consoles.
